Commissions

I take a few commissions a year. Not many — they take the same time as any other painting, and I'd rather do three properly than ten badly.

How it works

1. You send the brief below.
2. I answer within a week — yes or no, a price, a date. If it's not a fit I'll say so.
3. 50% deposit. I don't pick up a brush before that.
4. I paint it. You get progress shots.
5. Balance on completion, then it ships.

Allow 6 to 12 weeks from deposit, plus shipping.

What's it for? Gift, room, milestone, memorial, business.
Where's it going? Measure the wall — width and height in mm.
Size. Don't know? Give me the wall and I'll tell you.
Your budget. Be straight. Originals run $1,800–$6,000 and commissions sit in that range. I'd rather work to your real number than guess.
When do you need it? If there's a date, say it now.
What of mine do you like? Name a piece. Tells me more than any adjective.
What's it about? The big one. Whakapapa, a person, a place, a kaupapa, a moment. The painting comes out of this, not out of the size.
